Summer Internship at Northside: May 10 - July 19, 2026

Are you a college or graduate student preparing for a career in ministry? Are you looking for a supportive and immersive environment to learn about serving others in the church? Are you willing to spend your summer in the crossroads of America? If so, this program is for you.

Overview

The Northside Baptist church ministry internship is designed to raise up a new generation of Christian leaders. The program provides hands-on training for those pursuing vocational ministry in the church. Concentration possibilities include pastoral ministry, worship ministry, youth and family ministry, and/or missions ministry.

Context

Northside Baptist is a mid-sized church in the heart of the Midwest. Located in Indianapolis, Indiana, Northside is just minutes away from a busy city center, growing suburbs, and sprawling countrysides. Serving its community for more than 60 years, the church attracts people from all walks of life, making this an ideal place to learn about ministry.

Structure and Work

The internship program runs for 10 weeks from May 10 to July 19. The position is full-time (40 plus hours) and follows the ministry staff’s weekly schedule. A total stipend of $1,500 will be given to each intern, with the addition of a love offering at the end of the summer. Housing and some meals will be provided by hosts from the church.

Interns will shadow church leaders in all aspects of church ministry, including planning, promotion, and execution. They will also be involved in their own ministry activities, with each intern focusing on a special ministry project in their area of concentration. In addition to reading, writing, and reflecting on some of the core aspects of church leadership, they may also be asked to help do research for special ministry-related projects. Arrangements can be made for interns who have special academic requirements to fulfill for their education programs.
